Alfred Stucky (1892-1969)

Graduate civil engineer ETH - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zürich
Doctor of technical science (see his Thesis), Director of the EPUL - Swiss Institute of Technology of the University of Lausanne.

In 1926, he created STUCKY’s office and started his career of professor in Hydrometry and Hydraulic works at the School of Engineers of Lausanne. At the same time, he was a manager, a professor and a famous and very demanded expert. He was a much admired and respected scientist who was fascinated by his work. He will remain one of the greatest dam builders of the XXth century.

Jean-Pierre Stucky (1917-1991)

Doctor of technical science h. c. - Professor at the EPFL

As a great practitioner engineer, he took part in the construction of a large number of dams and hydroelectric power plants in Switzerland as well as in foreign countries. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became the office manager and also the holder of the Hydraulics Chair at the EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne. He was an expert of the International Committee on large dams and he represented the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne on the Swiss National Committee.

Pierre Dubuis (1926)

Graduate civil engineer EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne

Born in 1926, he started his career with Prof. Alfred Stucky as a study and research engineer.
Hydraulics was his passion, so he took part in a large number of hydroelectric schemes in Switzerland as well as in foreign countries. He was particularly interested in the Grande Dixence dam, in Switzerland. He managed STUCKY for 11 years with conviction and responsibility.

Raymond Lafitte (1935)

Graduate civil engineer ETH - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Zürich

He was STUCKY’s manager, a professor at the EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne and also an expert. He gave STUCKY the benefit of his great experience and his well-advised skills that he acquired in the course of his famous career. As he was the President of the International Hydroelectricity Association, the Vice-President of the Swiss Federal Committee on Water Saving, the President of the dam security Committee, a division of the International Committee on Large Dams, he made a great contribution to the international renown of the company.

Eric Davalle (1955)

Graduate civil engineer EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne
Doctor of technical science – Assistant lecturer at the EPFL

Former student of Prof. J.-P. Stucky and Prof. R. Lafitte, he was a specialist in numerical modelling of continuous medium. His career quickly moved towards Hydraulics and Underground Constructions. In 1999, in order to boost the company, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer. He was a dynamic, efficient and multidisciplinary organizer. As well as continuing a tradition of excellence and high level skills, his approach gave STUCKY a new impulse at the beginning of the XXIst century.

Marc Balissat (1944)

Graduate civil engineer EPFL - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne
M.S. in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering - University of California, Berkeley, USA

Engineer with a long professional record in the field of dams and foundations, he joined STUCKY in 1997, bringing to the company his experience of manager of large projects and general practitioner in hydraulic engineering. With a strong background in international relationships, he has taken over the responsibility of CEO in 2005 while devoting himself to consolidate what has been established by his predecessor. He was able to rely on the outstanding qualities and the commitment of the leading staff of the company.
